Code of Conduct

Wichita Defenders

The Wichita Defenders code of conduct allows all athletes and families be in unity in how we will conduct ourselves as a team and maintain Christ-like character as individuals.

Statement of Faith
  • Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life  John 14:6

  • God's Word is the final authority in everything.  2 Timothy 3:16

  • Works cannot save us.  Titus 3:5
Code of Conduct Scriptures
  • Let love and faithfulness never leave you.  Bind them around your neck and write them on the tablet of your heart.  Then you will will favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.  Proverbs 3:3-4

 

  • Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right.  Proverbs 20:11

  • A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.  Proverbs 22:1

 

  • Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.  Colossians 3:23

Code of Conduct
Participant Standard of Conduct

1. I will attend all required meetings, camps, clinics, and practices and arrive on time, notifying my coach if I must be late or absent.

 

2. I will show self-control by not criticizing my teammates, coaches, opponents or game officials. During practices or games, I will place myself under the authority of my coach and will show them respect at all times. At games, I recognize the officials as the final authority and will trust my coach to handle any situation on my behalf.

 

3. I will meet the required academic standards set forth by my parents.

 

4. I will address all concerns or problems through my coaches or team captains.

​

5. I will clean up after myself when leaving gyms, locker rooms, vehicles, etc.

 

6. I will always play by the rules.

 

7. I will comply with KSHSAA and officials in regards to any tattoos and piercings.

 

8. I will represent the Defenders well by dressing modestly at all Defenders activities and submit to the guidelines my coaches set forth.

 

9. I will refrain from any public display of affection toward individuals who are not members of my family.

​

10. I will show respect for teammates and myself by abstaining from alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco products, and by maintaining sexual purity.

 

11. I will refrain from cursing, coarse or foul language.

 

12. I will meet all my financial and membership responsibilities in a timely manner.

 

13. I will take good care of my Defenders uniform and take responsibility for any damages, knowing that it is the property of the Defenders organization.
